PLAN A GAS AUDIT , CALL JOHNO |

Unknown to most boat-owners is that there is a standard that lays the restrictions out clear on LPG installations of appliances/pipework and tolerances on locations and ventilation within boats and caravans. This code is known as NZS 5428, and is available through standards New Zealand. There has been a lot of interest lately with insurance policy renewals and the requirement for Gas Audits to check on the status of the installation that the insurance company is covering. This is where I come in and to be honest I have seen some shocking situations where incorrect methods have been used and are now not only a liability to the Boat owner but other boats that may be moored near-by. With this in mind it pays to make sure your LPG system is safe for use and meets these standards, because it will be hard enough to replace your own boat let alone the Launch next to you. Is it worth the risk ?I use a system which is fail proof and will provide a full gas certification for all work undertaken. As of April 2013 all LPG gas installations regardless of bottle-size will require a gas certificate and insurance companies may require these for re-newal of policy. If you are unsure of what your boats status is concerning the gas installation feel free to call me and we can arrange an audit to see where your pride and joy fits in the scale of safe or potential hazard. I cover the all areas on the eastern side of the Coromandel regarding Gas boat audits and can arrange a time when best suites for you or when the boat is on dry dock. |
